Our Future Direction
Circumnavigating the Globe with Total Automation
Even though Total Automation already serves a global clientele and has
offices in various parts of the world, we continue to seek ways to
improve our levels of services to our customers. With the
acquisition of the Group by Wartsila Corporation and access to their
global network, it is believed Total Automation will have the
opportunity to offer its customers more support in the near
future.
One
way we seek to do this is to establish new offices in regions where we
do not have a strong presence, but where our customers are. We seek to
establish an office in North America to better service our customers in
the U.S.A and Latin America.
We also seek to add
additional services to current offices. In Europe, we aim to add our
traditional Service & Repair services to our current Manufacturing
& Gauging services. We aim for each of our offices to be able to
perform traditional Service & Repair, Project & System
Integration, and have capability in Manufacturing & Gauging.
Growing through Acquisitions and Joint Ventures
While we aim to grow Total Automation by increasing the level and type
of services offered, we also aim to grow Total Automation through
technology acquisitions or joint ventures.
We look at companies
that are involved in technology which we understand and can use, but
may not have the global strength, the financial muscle, or the
technical manpower to grow that business.
We are always on the look out for companies that will increase our ability to offer total solutions.
LNG and Offshore Oil Boom
Over the next few years, we continue to see the rising importance of
liquefied natural gas (LNG) and offshore oil. We expect to see these
two booms translate into strong growth drivers for our business.

With LNG production expected to double in the decade, we expect
increased demand for our skills and products. There are currently in
excess of 50 new LNG carriers under construction in Japan, Korea, China
and France which offer opportunity for Whessoe gauges and our system
integration services.
Total Automation also
expects to benefit from the offshore oil boom with the growing number
of conversions from crude oil carriers to FPSO (floating production
storage and offloading) and FSO (floating storage and offloading). This
is becoming increasingly popular as a more cost effective solution for
the offshore gas industry.
At the same time, both oil and gas carriers are being upgraded to handle more stringent regulations and shipping demands.
Along with the offshore
boom, land-based storage terminals are also being built which offer us
the opportunity to supply plant automation control systems.
