Support Services

As our engineers are often onboard a ship or a rig, or working in a shipyard away from our offices, they require support from our main offices in Singapore, Dubai and the United Kingdom. At Total Automation, we have a well-developed back-end to support our engineering and technical sales departments.

Total Automation maintains a large stock of equipment and spare parts from which to supply our engineers in their work, factory space to fabricate and repair needed parts and equipment, and laboratories to test and calibrate parts and equipment before they are returned into service with our customers.

The Group also operates a strong purchasing division which has access and arrangements with manufacturers and suppliers worldwide to provide equipment on an urgent and long-term basis.

Specialist Manpower Supply

Over the years, the Total Automation Group has received numerous requests for support from customers in respect to offshore activities, particularly in respect to floating production storage offloading vessels, floating storage offloading vessels, offshore production platforms, etc… During the last phase of construction or conversion of these vessels, operators require large teams of engineering staff to carry out pre-commissioning and commissioning, as well as testing for all equipment onboard. Assistance is also required when the vessel or platform reaches its site location in respect to hook up and commissioning, and when “first oil” takes place.

The Group now has a strong reputation amongst major oil companies, operating companies and engineering groups in respect to the supply of well-qualified and experienced staff to meet these requirements. The number of personnel varies on a job-by-job basis, depending on the duration and scope of work. For example, during the year 2004, the company provided to major engineering group, manpower reaching levels of 250 during the final stages of construction of an FPSO and a team of engineers then followed the vessel to its location in Indonesian waters. A current job is in progress for a Nigerian FPSO involving in excess of 100 engineering staff. These services have been rendered over the years in offshore locations such as Vietnam, China, Myanmar, Nigeria, Africa and many other locations.
